The temperature was nice today and brought out 25 boats. However, It did not start out with as much wind as promised. The wind from Saturday blew alot of the water out of the river and the water was the lowest I’ve seen. The first three races saw the wind from the ~west and it was filling in from the left and right in big shifts. It was challenging in the first three races. Justin Pollack took off from were he left off last week and drawing from his sailing experience on the Hudson river with a solid first three races. The fourth race saw the wind switch to the south and that were it stayed for the rest of the day. Team Guenther set up a windward leeward and ran one and two lappers. They also provided complimentary beer. Thanks guys.
For those of you that packed it in after the third race, in the fifth race Justin broke his upper mast (yes it got that windy). If that did not happen he might have won a second consecutive week. And since you packed it in you did not get to beat up on the series leader who proceeded to get a second to last and a last place finish in the fourth and fifth races. But this week belonged to Steve Y. Will Summers had a nice day after doing RC last week and had a first in race #4 and finished second overall. Dan Miller had his best showing of the season with a third overall on the day and ended up tied with new PRSA member Ken Davis.
