It was a great day to be on the water. The RC set up a trapezoid course for trying out before the Cap City. The first two races the fleet pretty much ran themselves; the second race was a rabbit start. The wind was south-southwest in the ten to fifteen range. Fifteen boats came out to enjoy the day. Len was able to clinch the day winning the last two races. Robert Bennett had a nice day and Justin Pollack rounded out the top three.
By winning today Len has regained the top spot in the series. The top ten in the series are:
Name – Avg
Geunther – 2.5
Hesse – 3.5
Alsalam – 3.6
Pollack – 5.3
Petersen -5.3
Yelland – 5.7
Will – 5.9
Miller – 6.8
Graham – 7
Klein – 7.2
It will come down to the final weekend to determine the winner of the 11-12 edition of the Frostbite Series.
Justin Pollack’s Third Place Write-Up is below:
What a perfect day to be out on the water. I was especially happy with today being my first day on the water in several weekends that I did not break anything on my boat, so huge plus. It was a great day for running a trapezoid course which I hadn’t sailed in a long time, made for some good planing and fast mark roundings. While the wind was somewhat shifty heading to the windward mark I didn’t seam to favor one side of the course over the other, rather as long as I got off a good clean start I was set; then just watched out for the puffs and tried to keep the boat flat. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the remaining 2 weekends turn out this good.
