CRYC Annual Regatta

This coming weekend July 26-27 Corsica River Yacht Club will host our 73rd Annual Regatta, and we hope you will join us.

Corsica River Yacht Club is a great place to sail with a lot of open water, very limited motor boat chop, easy beach launching and plenty of grass on which to park, rig, camp and just hang out. CRYC will work very hard to ensure that it is an enjoyable weekend for you. I am sure that it will have the same laid back yet competitive atmosphere that you expect at Corsica River, we will have a classic Eastern Shore dinner and live music at the club after sailing on Saturday.

Camping is highly encouraged and is free. Ship Point is an extremely tranquil spot to camp. If you have a cruising boat we have a very protected anchorage at the club. We are less than an hour’s drive from Annapolis, just over an hour’s drive from the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and easily accessible from the Southern Bay, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Please see the NOR on our Web site for additional details http://www.cryc.org/.

I very much hope that you will join us for the weekend. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance or can answer any questions. Hopefully see you then.

Sincerely,
Nicholas

Corsica River Annual Regatta

Corsica River Yacht Club on the Chesapeake’s Eastern Shore will host our 69th Annual Regatta this weekend, July 24-25. This is a long standing Eastern Shore traditional regatta known for its laid-back, friendly, family oriented sailing. This is always been a very inclusive regatta, there will be plenty of Junior sailors as well as senior and masters sailors, there will also be plenty of radial sailors as well as full rigs. There will be multiple generations of the same family (last year three of the sailors had been sailing in this regatta since 1951) and sailors of all skill levels, please come along and add to the mix.

We will be sailing from Conquest Beach again this year (we could not quite get the new club pavilion open in time). Those that have sailed with us before will remember, Conquest Beach is a great place to sail with lots of open water, very limited motor boat chop, easy beach launching less than five minutes from the courses, plenty of grass to park, rig and camp on and is very picturesque. We greatly appreciate the support we received in previous years. There will be an Eastern Shore BBQ chicken dinner and party on Saturday night. Camping is highly encouraged and is free. Conquest Beach is a very tranquil spot to watch the stars go by while listening to our favorite blue-grass band Bitter Creek.

We are less than an hour’s drive from Annapolis, just over an hour’s drive from the Delaware Memorial Bridge, and easily accessible from the Southern Bay. Please see the NOR on our Web site for additional details and registration http://www.cryc.org/. CRYC will work hard to make this regatta fun and affordable.

Please let me know if I can help or if you have any questions. Hopefully see you this weekend.

This year we are very pleased to be the second stop on the District 11 Series.

Corsica River Annual Regatta

CRYC looks forward to hosting another laid back Eastern Shore style regatta on July 26th-27th and seeing many old familiar faces, but also looking forward to seeing some new faces in the crowd. There are some minor changes this year to the venue, most notably the new start time for the one design fleet – skippers meeting 11 AM; First Warning 12, Saturday lunch and a new dinner menu. CRYC hopes you enjoy this regatta as much as the members enjoy hosting the event.

This is a really relaxed and fun regatta with good Laser competition and good attendance from junior and senior Laser sailors. CRYC sails in a great sailing area with limited motorboat chop, easy launching from a beautiful beach within five minutes of the course. The dinner and party are always fun, and sailors can camp next to their boat for free. The regatta venue is an easy 30 minute drive from the Bay Bridge so is very accessible to Western Shore sailors or even from the Southern Bay, and is also close for sailors coming from the north. The regatta information can be found at http://www.cryc.org/annual.rml. Please let me know if you need anything (nplace@healex.com).
